After School Bible Clubs are one of the founding activities of the CBM Camp Gilead ministry. We are pleased to be able to continue to offer them today. Essentially, Bible clubs allow us to partner with local churches while discipling kids.

What we offer: We pick up your child from school one day a week. We have game time (dodgeball, kickball, 4 square, etc.), snack time, and lesson time (Bible lesson and Bible memory). These are staffed by Camp Gilead trained and approved volunteers.

The general time of a Bible Club is from 3-5 pm, depending on the school. Bible Clubs occur once a week and continue with the school calendar. There is no cost involved. Quarterly we will try to have a Camp Gilead activity, where we will go to our campsite for the club rather than the church. This is a way the children can get a glimpse of what it would be like to be a summer camper. Bible Clubbers have the opportunity to participate in a camp scholarship program that includes Bible lessons and Scripture memorization work with the potential to earn a free week of summer camp.

Earn up to $125 off your week at Camp Gilead next summer and learn more about the Bible while doing it!

Camp Gilead was founded based on the knowledge that lives are changed through the power of the Word of God. With our Bible Correspondence Lesson Program, your kids will experience an incredible year-round discipleship program that will enable them to fall more deeply in love with the truths of Scripture and the Author of them. Many kids have been saved through these lessons, and countless others have grown in their relationships with the Lord because of them.

All students that want to participate in the lesson program must register each year. The following list gives the guidelines that must be followed in order to be eligible to receive the $50 discount towards a week of camp.

  • The student must enroll in the Bible Correspondence program no later than December 31st of the academic calendar year.
  • Complete, return and receive a passing grade of at least 75 on all required lessons within the series, which is typically 9 lessons.
  • The lessons must be completed and returned one at a time, unless the administrator of the program gives prior approval for multiple lessons to be turned in.
  • The student must have all lessons within a lesson series completed and returned no later than April 15th of the academic calendar year.

At Camp Gilead, we believe that every child should be able to attend camp each summer and that every child deserves the opportunity to hear about the love of Jesus Christ. It is our goal never to turn away a child because of finances. That’s why we have the Scholarship Fund.

If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please don’t hesitate! Click here to download the application or click the download link below, which may be faxed to us at 863-984-2067, or mailed to us.

Scholarship Application

For many campers in the Polk County and the surrounding areas of Central Florida, summer camp is only a dream; their parents cannot afford to send their kids to camp. Many of the campers come from single-parent homes, and many others are simply the victims of a poor economy. The majority of these kids do not attend church and have never heard that there is a God who love them unconditionally.

Your support is essential to the Scholarship Fund. There are several opportunities to help send kids to summer camp each year. We ask you to consider which of these options would best fit you and your family as you partner with us in our mission of “Changing Lives…One Heart at a Time.”

The first option is to give to the Scholarship Fund on a monthly or annual basis. These gifts will be used for the sole purpose of providing scholarships to campers who want to come to camp.

The second option is give a special gift to the Scholarship Fund. All gifts are appreciated and will help campers afford the opportunity to attend any one of our camps.

The third option is to sponsor a child. The cost for a week of camp ranges from $175 to $425, and many people have sponsored one or more campers every summer.

So as you see, there are many opportunities for you to get involved in the lives of a camper!
